Brand Portal

Brand Portal

A brand portal is a curated, self-service website where people outside the core team — partners, resellers, press, agencies, or other departments — can find and download approved assets on their own. It presents a deliberate slice of the library: current logos, product imagery, and campaign material, without exposing everything else the DAM holds.

Portals solve the "can you send me the logo?" problem. Without one, every external request lands in someone's inbox, and every reply risks sending an outdated file. A portal replaces that loop: the brand team publishes once, and everyone downstream helps themselves — always getting the current, approved version, because the portal reads live from the library rather than from a zip file someone exported last quarter.

The governance side is what separates a portal from a public folder. Access can be open, password-protected, or account-based; what each audience sees can differ; and downloads can be limited to specific formats or renditions, so a reseller gets web-ready images rather than layered source files. Because the portal is backed by the DAM, rules like embargoes and expiry keep working — an expired asset disappears from the portal the moment it leaves circulation.

In freedam, brand portals support guest access: visitors browse and download published assets without an account, while per-asset access rules control what guests can see and whether originals are downloadable.
