Freedam

Running campaigns out of shared folders

A focused DAM for a growing marketing team

Sales asks for product images every week. An agency just used last season’s brochure. Freedam gives your team one visual library where everyone finds the current version themselves.

Freedam — real product screen
A Freedam collection page: the collection tree on the left and a grid of 47 approved images with share, metadata and edit actions
A real Freedam collection: the tree on the left, the asset grid on the right, and share, metadata and version actions in one toolbar.

Do you need a DAM yet?

Not about company size. About how often you look for files.

If finding, checking and sending files eats hours of someone’s week, a DAM will help. If not, shared folders are fine.

Situations we often hear about

You probably need a DAM when…

Marketing answers the same file requests every week. Several versions are in circulation and nobody knows which is current. Agencies, sales or dealers need fresh material often. Rights, consent and expiry dates are hard to keep with the file.

Situations where less may be enough

Shared folders are still fine when…

One person finds everything quickly and requests are rare. Files rarely change and only the people who made them use them. You have no rights, approval or external sharing to track. Nobody has time to tag files and manage access after launch.

How to start

Start with one campaign, not the whole archive

Pick the product line or campaign people ask about most, put it in Freedam and let a few real users try it. Expand from there.

  1. 01

    Pick one campaign

Choose the product line or campaign people ask for most, so the test reflects a real week.

  2. 02

    Add the basics

Tag by product, campaign, market and rights. Skip everything else for now.

  3. 03

    Upload the files

Drag and drop, or connect Google Drive, WebDAV or S3 storage you already use.

  4. 04

    Invite the people who ask

Give sales, an agency or a dealer a collection or portal and see if the requests stop.

Compare plans against the workflow

Questions buyers ask

Before you make the change

Is a DAM useful for a small business?

It can be when a small marketing team serves many other people, channels, or markets. Distribution complexity, version risk, and rights obligations matter more than headcount alone.

How do we know it is still too early?

Shared folders may still be enough when one owner can find everything, files change infrequently, external distribution is rare, and there are no meaningful rights or approval requirements.

Do we have to move everything at once?

No. A focused start can cover one current campaign, product line, or approved library. Direct upload and source connectors let the structure grow from a useful working set rather than a speculative big-bang taxonomy.

Where can we compare plans?

The pricing page lists current plans, storage limits, administrator allowances, and included capabilities. Choose based on the workflow and access model you need rather than a generic claim that one DAM is affordable for every team.

Try it with work you already know

Try one familiar campaign

Seeing that familiar journey in the real product is a practical way to decide whether search, versions, rights and sharing would make the week easier for your team.
