Usage rights, approvals and compliance records

Attach usage rights to assets, route new content through review steps, and keep a record of every rights decision, download and terms acceptance.

A Team or Business label marks the lowest plan that includes a feature; the others are on every plan, Free included.

Usage rightsBusiness

Administrators define rights policies in the ODRL standard, with permitted actions, territories, channels, prohibitions, duties and an expiry date, then assign them to assets. The policy list flags policies that are active, expiring soon or expired and shows how many assets each one covers.

Rights acknowledgementBusiness

A rights policy can require acknowledgement at download time, with a title and text written in Markdown. The download dialog shows the terms with a Read link and a signing line. Acceptance is recorded per user and per policy version, so a new version asks again.

Rights logsBusiness

The Rights Usage Logs page lists every rights evaluation, acknowledgement and download with the user, asset, decision and the reasons or duties applied. Filter by decision or event type, search by user, asset or policy, and export the filtered entries to CSV for an audit.

Approval workflowsTeam

Administrators draw statuses and transitions in a drag-and-drop designer and assign each workflow to asset classes. Review steps notify a user group by email, transitions can require a confirmation or a reason, and automatic transitions move assets on a rule, for example to Expired when the rights policy expires.

Review modeTeam

Review Mode is a Gallery filter that shows the assets in the review steps assigned to your reviewer groups. Each card shows its workflow status and a button for each status it can move to. It combines with the other filters, for example one collection or oldest first.

Workflow historyTeam

The History tab of an asset lists each status change with the statuses it left and entered, the person who made it or Automatic change for a rule, the date and the reason given. Lines cannot be edited or deleted; a correction is a new transition.

Content Credentials (C2PA)

On upload, Freedam checks each file for a C2PA manifest, verifies its signature against the official C2PA trust list and records a status: Verified, Signed with an unverified signer, Invalid or No credentials. It also marks AI-generated content and verified camera captures, and you can filter the Gallery on these values.

Terms of use

Write General, Upload and Share terms in Markdown, with one tab per interface language. General terms are accepted before using the workspace, Upload terms before a first upload, Share terms before creating a share link. Each acceptance is stored with its version, time and IP address and exports to CSV.

Hosting and security

Hosted workspaces run in Germany, each with its own database and its own private file storage. All traffic uses HTTPS, uploaded and imported files are scanned for viruses before they are stored, and access rules are checked on the server for every preview, download and API request.

Backups

The database and files of each workspace are backed up every night to off-site storage on separate infrastructure, and a full workspace snapshot is taken every week. Deleted assets stay in the Trash for 30 days, so everyday mistakes do not need a restore.
